What We Do

Matamata Futures Incorporated is a registered charitable trust registered in September 1995 by a group of committed community members to “provide benefits to the people of the Matamata Ward of the Matamata Piako District Council and to provide support for such community facilities as may be warranted”.

The original trustees were Bruce Magan, Don Stanley, Kerry Simpson, Terry Magill, Paul Tidmarsh and Joanne Prevett. Bruce Magan remains a trustee today and incredibly generous contributor to Matamata’s Sports Stadium project.

In the almost 30 years that have passed, Matamata Futures has been involved in a number of community initiatives and activities in the interests of the Matamata community.

Who Are We

Matamata Futures work behind the scenes on up and coming projects for the community. Our trustees work directly with local Council to deliver projects that serve our community now but also for future generations to come. We are thankful for the time of our trustees who make it possible for us to do what we do. We always have new projects in the works.
